This seminar will discuss various privacy issues facing businesses, government agencies and individuals arising from the war on terrorism. The program will assist in-house counsel in understanding current issues pertaining to government access to private company transactions and information. Discussed will be security issues, the Advisory Panel's long-term strategic vision for securing and protecting the information of businesses and individuals and the on-going debate regarding balancing interests of security and civil liberties, as well as maintaining privacy protections under the Privacy Act of 1974.
In accordance with the requirements of the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board, this non-transitional continuing legal education program is not approved for the newly admitted attorney within the first two years of admission to the Bar.
