C-Band Update Webinar

Please join us on April 2, 2020 for a look at what comes next for the 3.7-4.2 GHz Band (commonly referred to as the C-Band) now that the Federal Communications Commission’s order realigning the band is out. The order proposes to modify all of the satellite and fixed service licenses, and will impact a majority of the earth stations, in the band. The public auction of the 3.7 – 3.98 GHz portion of this mid-band spectrum for flexible use, including 5G, is scheduled for late this year, but there is a lot that has to happen between now and then, and the prospects for reconsideration, judicial review, and even requests for stay remain.

We’ll be reviewing not only ​“what just happened,” but what is due to and could happen next, with a special emphasis on incumbent earth station operators and other users of the spectrum near the frequencies to be auctioned. It is clear that there is a lot of heavy lifting remaining before the Commission can confidently commence the auction of the lower 280 MHz on the target date of December 8, 2020.
