C-Band Update Webinar

April 2, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm (EDT)

Please join us on April 2, 2020 for a look at what comes next for the 3.7-4.2 GHz Band (commonly referred to as the C-Band) now that the Federal Communications Commission’s order realigning the band is out. The order proposes to modify all of the satellite and fixed service licenses, and will impact a majority of the earth stations, in the band. The public auction of the 3.7 – 3.98 GHz portion of this mid-band spectrum for flexible use, including 5G, is scheduled for late this year, but there is a lot that has to happen between now and then, and the prospects for reconsideration, judicial review, and even requests for stay remain.

We’ll be reviewing not only what just happened,” but what is due to and could happen next, with a special emphasis on incumbent earth station operators and other users of the spectrum near the frequencies to be auctioned. It is clear that there is a lot of heavy lifting remaining before the Commission can confidently commence the auction of the lower 280 MHz on the target date of December 8, 2020.
