Kelley Drye & Warren LLP seeks a junior level associate to join the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice in the New York office. Qualified candidates will have 2 to 3 years of experience focused on the following areas: all aspects of qualified defined contribution plans and defined benefit plans (including IRS and DOL compliance matters, determination letter filings, agency correction programs, and fiduciary considerations); health and welfare plans (including Affordable Care Act requirements); and all aspects of ERISA and executive compensation matters in corporate transactions. Experience in the following areas is a plus: HIPAA, nonqualified plan compliance, church plans, window programs, severance agreements, and securities issues applicable to employee benefit plans. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: research projects, written and oral communication with clients and other practice groups within the Firm, drafting of summary plan descriptions, drafting of plan amendments, due diligence in corporate transactions, and drafting of client advisories. Successful candidates must be able to keep abreast of all new regulations affecting employee benefit plans, work independently and on a team, pay careful attention to detail, have excellent communication and writing skills, strong research and analytical skills, balance and prioritize a large workload, meet deadlines, and be organized.
