Associate (Environmental Litigation and Regulatory/Real Estate)

Kelley Drye & Warren LLP is seeking an Associate to join the Firm’s Houston office.  Candidates must be licensed in Texas and have 2-4+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, enforcement defense, and some real estate and/or oil & gas experience. Regulatory counseling responsibilities include: advising clients on matters involving the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and natural resource damage issues; the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA); counseling clients on Texas environmental statutes and regulations; and monitoring federal and state regulatory changes and litigation related to emerging contaminants.  Real estate and oil & gas responsibilities include negotiating and preparing purchase and sale agreements, addressing environmental issues, assisting with water and oil & gas transactions.  Knowledge of Texas oil and gas law, land use laws, and water law a plus.
