Accounts Payable Assistant

Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, a powerhouse firm with the heart of a boutique, is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant based in the New York office.  The Accounts Payable Assistant role completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.  Provide support and logistic assistance to the Accounts Payable Department and Supervisor.  The Firm’s regular business hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, check requests, and expense reports.

  • Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval before payment.

  • Set up new vendors and file all the completed Form W-9.

  • Answers all vendor inquiries.

  • Responsible for processing and delivery of supporting documentation.

  • Research and answer employee's questions regarding accounting procedures and coding.

  • Under general direction assists with the preparation of invoices for payment.

  • Assisting Accounts Payable Supervisor with special projects, when needed.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of Chrome River application is a plus.

  • Previous experience in a law or professional service firm accounting department is a definite plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with co-workers, management, legal and administrative staff.

  • Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely.

  • Must be customer service and detail-oriented.

  • Must be flexible for paid overtime.
