Equal Pay for Equal Work? The State of Pay Equity in the U.S.

From New York to California, states have different laws regarding equal pay, yet most mandate that male and female employees doing work that is substantially similar” must be compensated equally. This session will address what employers need to know to stay compliant with New York’s Achieve Pay Equity Act, California’s Fair Pay Act, and the myriad other state and federal regulations. The program will provide practical advice on how to proactively analyze employee compensation, implement change where necessary and address claims made under equal pay laws, including the computation of potential damages. Particular attention will be given to how statistical techniques can make company compensation information understandable and useful.
