FCC Expands Porting to VoIP, Streamlines Porting Process
Seeks Comment on Porting Interval, Other Issues

The FCC on Wednesday adopted an Order ensuring that customers of interconnected voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) may retain their numbers when switching providers.
In the same action, the Commission also took steps to streamline the processing of local number portability requests to alleviate undue delays that customers experience.
