In the entertainment industry, cast insurance covers loss in the event a production is delayed or cancelled as the result of the injury or death of an actor, among other things. There are relatively few judicial opinions on cast insurance. However, this article explains two recent decisions, Alta Vista Productions, LLC v. St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company and Capitol Films U.S. LLC v. Aon/Albert G. Ruben Ins. Svs., Inc. Both cases address issues, which should interest entertainment industry policyholders.
