The article focused on the acquittals of former Bear Stearns hedge fund managers, Ralph Cioffi and Matthew Tannin, whose case was considered to be the first prosecution of Wall Street executives following the 2007 subprime mortgage crisis. The article discussed the warrant and affidavit to search Mr. Tannin’s email account, which allegedly contained evidence of conspiracy, securities fraud and wire fraud. The article also examined the legal measures that should to be taken in the seizure of computer and electronic files to ensure “meaningful boundaries” in a search. Associate Nafees Nuruddin assisted in the preparation of the article.Download File (PDF, 352.56 K)
