Economic Consulting and Data Analytics (GES)

As a subsidiary of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP (Kelley Drye), we focus our efforts on issues that complement several of the firm’s areas of focus, including trade, antitrust, environmental and commercial litigation.

We work with attorneys, law firms and other organizations to identify issues, shape technical positions, and build and strengthen arguments in the context of litigation. We also work with trade associations and corporations to provide information on developments and trends in industries and markets, such as foreign and U.S. market research, international trade data and economic indicators.

Our large international trade team performs research, analysis and advocacy on behalf of corporations and associations facing challenges in the areas of global trade and competition. We have participated in more U.S. international trade investigations than any other economic consulting firm and have an unsurpassed record of success in U.S. antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings, compiling the best won-lost record of any economic consulting firm in the field. We have an extensive history of analyzing and protecting sensitive business proprietary information and broad experience in analyzing large databases of sales, cost and financial information. We also provide analysis on customs matters, including valuation, duty drawback, classification, pre-entry programs, quotas, import restrictions, penalties, country-of-origin marking and preferential tariff treatment. Our senior staff includes former employees of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. International Trade Commission and the Office of the United States Trade Representative.

Our export control and economic sanctions team conducts compliance reviews, investigations and audits. We quickly and efficiently analyze large, complex databases, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) business systems, to identify potential export control and sanctions violations or risk areas. Our analysts have unsurpassed experience working on data reviews in response to government-required investigations and company investigations as part of voluntary self-disclosures (VSD), and as part of efficient, cost-effective internal audits. We’ve been highly successful in handling internal investigations and voluntary self-disclosures because our methodology and data are reliable and replicable. Many enforcement personnel have experience with our approach, and we believe they trust the data they receive as a result of GES reviews.

Our data services team provides confidential data collection and analysis services to organizations such as trade associations, purchasing consortia and other coalitions to assist in projects needing a third party to handle highly sensitive competitive data. We work with these organizations to produce the end products needed to make critical business decisions, including RFP evaluation and recommendation, price benchmarking analysis, reverse auction management and market basket collection and analysis.
