Good businesses understand that if they have any financial interaction with consumers, they may be operating in the complex and highly-regulated area of "consumer financial services."
Smart businesses understand and appreciate the compliance and regulatory constraints imposed by a host of federal and state standards on companies engaging in such consumer financial services.
Successful businesses stay ahead of the curve and employ an easy, actionable program of controls to ensure that no aspect of their consumer interaction runs afoul of what can seem to be an arcane
and Byzantine regulatory and statutory framework, often creating a trap for the unwary and risks of government investigations, enforcement actions, and complex litigation, including consumer class actions.
Kelley Drye & Warren's Consumer Financial Services practice offers experienced, knowledgeable, business-savvy practitioners who provide strategic advice and a comprehensive range of support services to both
traditional and emerging consumer financial services businesses. The results? We continue to witness remarkable turnarounds in efficiency, cost-savings, and customer service among the clients we have
counseled, just by conducting relatively straightforward reviews and implementing simple programs to enhance our clients’ compliance footprint.
Further, drawing on our deep bench of nationally-known litigators, Kelley Drye's Consumer Financial Services group offers experience in rigorous investigation, dispute resolution and litigation in responding
to state and federal regulators, managing Attorney General and federal investigations, and litigating matters ranging from white collar criminal defense to defense of major national class actions.
