Kelley Drye Participates in the Ice Bucket Challenge in Support of ALS Research

Kelley Drye Ice Bucket Challenge

The New York office of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP was challenged to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to support research and awareness for ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Kelley Drye client Seth Krauss, Chief Legal Officer of WME|IMG, challenged the firm after his company was nominated by actor Hugh Jackman. New York office managing partner Robert I. Steiner and litigation practice chair Michael C. Lynch enlisted Kelley Drye partner volunteers to take part in the challenge alongside them. Partners Robert D. Bickford, James S. Carr, Karyn C. Fulton, William S. Gyves, James J. Kirk, Dean E. Loventhal, Nicholas J. Panarella, and David I. Zalman and executive director Tom Carty volunteered to participate.

In the spirit of the Ice Bucket Challenge, Kelley Drye sold raffle tickets to attorneys and staff to raise money in support of ALS research. Each raffle winner had the honor of dumping a bucket of ice water on a Kelley Drye partner volunteer. The lucky winners were associates Jaclyn M. Metzinger, and staff members Mike Attianese, Yvonne Caracci, Stephanie Casker, Annemarie Donovan, Wanda Jones, and Kathy Flohr. On August 21, the partner volunteers lined up outside of 101 Park Avenue in New York and were doused in cold water by the raffle winners as attorneys and staffed cheered them on.

Kelley Drye passed along the challenge to the law department of Kelley Drye client LabCorp, as well as the firm’s other offices around the country, which have graciously accepted.
