Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher retained Kelley Drye as counsel in connection with a temporary restraining order alleging a violation of the Illinois Right of Publicity Act. In addition to addressing the right of an athlete or celebrity to control the use of his or her name and likeness, the case involved complex copyright, trademark and licensing issues. Urlacher, a five-time Pro-Bowl player and 2005 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, has retained the firm to represent him and his business concerns in a variety of matters, including intellectual property protection, transaction negotiations, and estate and tax planning.Kelley Drye
