10/20/09   Independent Inventor Triantafyllos Tafas Consents to Dismissal Of USPTO's Appeal of the United States District Court's Invalidation of the USPTO's Claims and Continuation Rules
On October 14, 2009, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) unilaterally rescinded its claims and continuation rules promulgated in 2007. These rules sought to impose arbitrary numerical limitations on the number of claims and requests for continuations of patent applications. The USPTO has also filed a motion to dismiss its appeal of the district court’s decision in the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, which appeal has been awaiting a hearing en banc. >> Read more
