Inner-City Scholarship Fund Holds Annual Summer Event

July 23, 2014

On July 23, 2014, the Lawyers Committee of the Inner-City Scholarship Fund (ICSF) held its annual summer gathering at Mutual of America Life Insurance Corporate Headquarters in New York City. This year’s speaker was the Honorable John G. Koeltl, United States District Judge. In an inspiring presentation, Judge Koeltl spoke about the need to ensure access to justice” for the City’s poor and disenfranchised and urged attending law firms and others to pay greater attention and commit more time to pro bono services. Kelley Drye’s former chairman and ICSF Board Member provided introductory remarks. Attending the event were high school students who received internships through the ICSF’s Job Opportunity Program, along with representatives of the ICSF, members of the Lawyers Committee and sponsoring law firms. Kelley Drye is a strong supporter of the ICSF and its Job Opportunity Program. This year’s ICSF summer intern was Jonathan Almonte, a rising senior at LaSalle Academy in New York. Jonathan split his time at Kelley Drye between the Accounting Department and Records.
