On September 19, 2014 partner Alysa Zeltzer Hutnik will speak at the International Association of Privacy Professional’s (IAPP) Privacy Academy in San Jose, CA. Ms. Hutnik’s session, “Regulatory Enforcement: Updates From North America and the EU,” will discuss the latest regulatory enforcement trends on privacy and data security in the U.S., Canada and the EU. The panel will provide an overview of the FTC and state enforcement developments under the FTC Act and similar state laws in the U.S., the newly implemented CASL regulations in Canada, and the different trends of national regulators toward investigations and enforcement in the EU.
