Partner George J. Marchese spoke at the American Chamber of Commerce in France "Industry Site Selection For An Affiliate In The U.S." program. The program took place in Paris on October 7, 2008. Mr. Marchese discussed some of the practical aspects of site selection and how both the investment and operating costs of a new facility may be offset by inducements, which can be negotiated with various states within a climate of created competition for hosting the new facility. A focus of the seminar was on the recent experience of Airbus in its site selection project which resulted in Mobile, Alabama being chosen for the location of the planned facility for assembly of aerial refueling tanker aircraft for the U.S.A.F.
Joining Mr. Marchese as speakers at the seminar were Pierre Cardin, General Counsel of EADS North America and Ann Marie Woessner of The Staubach Company. Mr. Cardin was involved in all aspects of that project and Ms. Woessner was the lead site selection consultant.
