The Climate for Climate Change
The Politics, Policies and Implications of Climate Change Legislation

Kelley Drye Seminar

Addressing climate change is certain to be a top priority of the next administration and the 111th Congress.  Impending legislation and regulations will impact business practices across industry sectors.  Join Kelley Drye’s Environmental Law and Government Relations & Public Policy Practices as the firm hosts a full-day seminar that will address the politics, policies and implications of climate change legislation.

The seminar will focus on the new Federal and Congressional policy landscape for climate change and their implications for business.  The seminar will include:

  • Representatives from both the McCain and Obama campaigns to discuss the candidates’ energy and climate change policy platforms and provide insight into what might be expected from the next Presidential administration.
  • Environmental experts and policy directors from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to discuss the legal and political pressures facing the EPA to regulate climate change under the Clean Air Act.
  • Congressional experts from key offices as we look ahead to the 111th Congress and the prospects for legislation.

The seminar will also spotlight the implications of climate change for businesses.   A cross-section of environmental, industry, and legal experts will explore such topics as:

  • The financial implications of climate change;
  • Prospective regulatory impacts on international trade;
  • Compliance with the Federal Trade Commission’s “Green Marketing” Guides and climate change-related marketing claims;
  • Transportation and renewable fuels; and
  • Implications for insurance and litigation.

Who should attend?:

This seminar will benefit business leaders whose companies will be affected by the climate change rulemaking process and anyone seeking to learn more about the ongoing policy debate.
