Steve Caley is a partner in the firm’s New York office. He focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation at the trial court and appellate levels.  He also serves as Kelley Drye's Firm Counsel.

Mr. Caley’s experience includes complex contract, business tort and statutory disputes; false advertising and deceptive trade practices litigation; corporate trust litigation; bankruptcy litigation; and complex toxic tort defense work.
Representative Experience

Representing major producer and marketer of fruit juices in litigation involving false advertising and unfair competition claims.

Representing internet marketing company in a federal appeal concerning scope of monetary relief under the FTCA.

Represented major bank in multibillion-dollar adversary proceedings brought by Enron in its Chapter 11 case. Proceedings settled.

Represented major bank in a lawsuit against 11 insurance companies seeking recovery of more than $1 billion under surety bonds supporting certain commodity sales transactions involving Enron. Case settled after four weeks of trial.

Represented a major technology company in a lawsuit brought by a state Attorney General alleging fraudulent and deceptive trade practices with respect to advertising, warranties, rebates, technical support and customer service. Case settled.

Defended major manufacturing company against multimillion-dollar contract and business tort claims. Obtained a jury verdict at trial, which was affirmed on appeal.

Represented a major bank against multimillion-dollar claims alleging breaches of duty as indenture trustee. Case settled.

Represented a major reprographics company in an appeal of a multimillion-dollar bankruptcy court judgment. Case settled.

Professional Activities
Serves as settlement Special Master for the New York Appellate Division, First Department.
