Nancy Lutz is a partner in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. She protects clients' trademarks, copyrights, and domain names, including the new gTLDs, on a worldwide basis by developing legal strategies to meet their business needs.
Ms. Lutz manages large, worldwide portfolios of well-known sporting goods, apparel, telecommunications, financial, and other trademarks. She has filed and prosecuted trademarks in every jurisdiction of the world and overseen complex litigation and oppositions and cancellations in many of them. Ms. Lutz also evaluates and purchases intellectual property; supervises investigations of infringers; negotiates licenses and other agreements; and conducts due diligence reviews of domestic and foreign intellectual property relating to corporate acquisitions and divestitures and secured transactions.
Ms. Lutz represents clients in inter partes proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) and in Uniform Domain Name Resolution (UDRP) actions. She also oversees complex foreign litigation and opposition and cancellation proceedings. As an associate, Ms. Lutz was a member of teams that litigated trademark infringement, unfair competition and trade dress issues before federal district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission.
