Gib Saydah is an associate in the firm's New York office.  His practice focuses on representing parties in Chapter 11 bankruptcy and out-of-court restructuring proceedings.  Mr. Saydah has significant experience representing official committees of unsecured creditors, landlords and managers of shopping centers in large retail bankruptcies; large individual creditors including energy companies and indenture trustees; acting as debtor's counsel to numerous manufacturers and retailers; and representing liquidating trustees and plan administrators in cases post-confirmation.

Representative Experience

Represented numerous landlords and managers of shopping centers in most recent retail bankruptcy cases, including Blockbuster, Inc., Linens ‘n Things, Circuit City, Goody's, Boscov's, Mervyns, Steve & Barry's, Sharper Image, Whitehall Jewelers, Friedman's Jewelers, Buffets Holdings, Mattress Discounters, Ritz Cameras and KBToys.

Represented the ad hoc committee of landlords in the out-of-court restructuring and liquidation of CompUSA, resulting in a recover of over 34 percent to creditors who would have received nothing in bankruptcy.

Represented the debtors in numerous Chapter 11 cases, including Hancock Fabrics, Oakwood Homes Corporation, Pillowtex Corporation and J. Silver Clothing.

Represented the largest unsecured and administrative creditor in Wellman, Inc. and assisted in reaching a consensual and confirmed plan of reorganization.

Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in Bachrach, Inc., Delfasco Inc. and Jillians Entertainment Holdings.

Represented the indenture trustee of $150 million of notes in Midway Games.

Represented the Uni-Marts Liquidation Trust, Pillowtex Liquidating Trustee, OHC Liquidation Trust, Copperweld Distribution Trust, and Plan Administrator in Jillians Entertainment Holdings.

Represented various directors and officers in Riverstone Networks, Inc.
