Brooke Ringel is an associate in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. She has experience in a variety of international trade matters, with a particular focus on export controls and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) matters. In the export control area, in addition to standard Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) controls on products, Ms. Ringel has a substantial experience in the intersection of immigration/EU data privacy/and deemed exports of controlled technology/technical data. She also has experience with electronic equipment export issues, with a concentration on equipment that may be controlled because it is useful for electronic surveillance purposes. Her FCPA practice includes helping companies design compliance materials, including practical desktop checklists, for use in global FCPA and anticorruption programs.

Prior to joining Kelley Drye, Ms. Ringel was a Special Assistant Attorney General for the District of Columbia litigating a wide range of matters on behalf of the District, including employment discrimination claims and multiple suits under the D.C. Freedom of Information Act, the D.C. Home Rule Act, and other District statutes. She also worked with a team of attorneys that successfully tried a claim under the D.C. Whistleblower Protection Act. While in law school, Ms. Ringel served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Judge John D. Bates of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
