Dustin Painter serves as an Associate in Kelley Drye’s Government Relations and Public Policy Practice. He represents clients’ legislative and policy interests before the Legislative and Executive branches and other federal administrative agencies.

In addition, as a member of the Campaign Finance and Political Law Practice, Mr. Painter counsels clients on federal and state campaign finance, lobbying disclosure, and government ethics laws. He also provides political law compliance advice to corporations, labor organizations, and trade associations.
 
Representative Experience:
Offers clients substantive legal analyses relevant to policymaking objectives.

Drafts legislation, committee report language and witness statements.

Advises and aids in the formation of political action committees.

Counsels clients on compliance with the Federal Election Campaign Act, Federal Election Commission regulations and the patchwork of campaign finance state statutes and regulations.

Advocates for clients in all aspects of federal notice and comment rulemakings and administrative protest proceedings.

Prior to joining Kelley Drye, Mr. Painter served in the office of Congressman Robert T. Matsui of California.
