Brian Churney is an associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on counseling clients regarding export licensing and classification of both dual use and munitions items. Mr. Churney advises clients about enforcement investigations, export compliance programs, matters related to the anti-boycott regulations and compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
Mr. Churney assists with matters before many of the different export-regulating bodies, including the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), the Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) and the Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). He also advises clients on various aspects of the Export Administration Regulations, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and other relevant trade regulations.
Mr. Churney counsels clients on customs matters before the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), specializing in the requirements of the Lacey Act. Additionally, Mr. Churney has advised U.S. companies in antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings.
Prior to joining Kelley Drye, Mr Churney was a law clerk at the National Veteran’s Legal Services Program. |
