Andrew Wein is an associate in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on litigation, mediation, and arbitration of complex civil cases, specializing in multi-party insurance disputes and consumer class actions, and has tried numerous cases to verdict before both juries and judges.
Mr. Wein is a former Assistant District Attorney in the Investigations/Rackets Bureau of the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, where he was awarded the Outstanding Community Service Award in 2001. |

Representative Experience:
In his insurance recovery practice, his representative experience includes:
- Serving as insurance coverage counsel to a chemical company in its efforts to recover insurance funds for the defense and indemnity of lead paint-related bodily injury, property damage, and public nuisance claims, including representation in a high-profile insurance recovery litigation.
- Advising numerous clients regarding the availability of coverage for claims ranging from privacy-related claims, premises liability, first-party property claims, and third-party tort claims.
- Representing corporations in litigation with their insurers over hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance coverage for asbestos claims.
- Serving as insurance counsel in connection with debtors in bankruptcy proceedings.
In his class-action and complex civil litigation practice, his representative experience includes:
- Representing a national consumer financial services company in a class action for an alleged breach of consumers’ privacy.
- Serving as counsel in a nationwide series of state-based class actions against title insurers arising from alleged premium overcharges.
- Litigating multi-million dollar products liability lawsuits involving design defects in industrial machinery, pharmaceutical products, and automobiles.
- Representing various parties in corporate and partnership dissolution proceedings.

Pro Bono:
Mr. Wein currently represents The Equal Rights Center in actions against national real estate developers for their alleged failure to make accessible housing available to persons with disabilities, as required by the ADA and FHA. Mr. Wein also has served as a Firm Coordinator for the Legal Aid Society’s annual Generous Associates Campaign. |
