Elissa Tomanda is an associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Her practice focuses on representing corporate policyholders, bankruptcy trusts, and other clients in recovering insurance proceeds for mass tort liability, directors’ and officers’ liability, property damage and residual value losses.
Before moving to private practice, Ms. Tomanda completed a two-year Pennsylvania Supreme Court clerkship with the Honorable Ronald D. Castille, who is currently Chief Justice of the court. |

Representative Experience:
Serve as insurance coverage counsel to a former lead paint manufacturer in a state court action to recover insurance funds for bodily injury and property damage claims.
Litigating in state court on behalf of a bankruptcy trust, which was created to process personal injury claims against a former asbestos producer, to obtain insurance coverage under commercial general liability policies.
Representing an automobile leasing company in arbitration to recover residual value insurance proceeds. |

Collaborated with the Washington Area Women’s Foundation to initiate a legal clinic discussion series designed to give charitable organizations, who assist the D.C. region’s women and children, access to pro bono talent to meet their organization’s and their clients’ legal needs. |
