Winafred R. Brantl

Winafred Brantl is a senior associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. She focuses her practice on state and federal telecommunications regulatory issues for competitive carriers.

Winafred has extensive experience facilitating the life-cycle requirements associated with telecommunications operations, including market entry, operational compliance, transactional approval strategies and market exit obligations. In addition to her work with traditional wireline clients, Winafred also works with wireless resellers seeking to establish an initial commercial presence in the United States, to comply with state and federal regulatory obligations in connection with changes to their existing operations and/or to obtain designation as Lifeline-Only Eligible Telecommunications Carriers. Winafred frequently addresses ​“grey-zone” areas of regulation such as the ever-evolving regulatory issues confronting Voice-over-Internet-Protocol providers. After more than twenty years working with Kelley Drye’s telecommunications clients, Winafred has acquired particular familiarity with the strategic planning necessary to steer client transactions through the associated regulatory hurdles.
